Saʿāda

سعادةsaʿāda

Preferred translation
felicity
Technical sense
perfected human end

General Technical Meaning

Saʿāda is the good sought for its own sake and not as a means to anything greater.

In ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabāʾī’s Works

In the reviewed al-Manāmāt classification, ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabāʾī treats saʿāda as the human path and end associated with balanced natural constitution and, for intermediate cases, successful education. The passage relates it to ultimate perfection while preserving degrees and contingent formation; it does not make felicity a merely present feeling or a fate detached from formation.
