General Technical Meaning

Within gradational predication, tashkīk is the non-uniform application of one concept to its instances: some possess priority, precedence, greater entitlement, or greater intensity than others.

In ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabāʾī’s Works

In al-Manāmāt, ʿAllāmah Ṭabāṭabāʾī uses tashkīk for ordered gradation in the strength and weakness of action and knowledge. It is not the ordinary sense of casting doubt.
